School Rules & Policies

1.      All students must be ready for class exactly at the time listed.  Students should be dressed in their uniforms and already lined up.  Late students will be given a reasonable set of exercises to complete before being allowed in class.  Students may not leave class without the instructor’s permission.

2.      All instructors will be addressed as Mister, Sir or Ma’am, or Sensei.  Bowing to your instructor is a sign of respect that you should do before and after class.

3.      Always speak to your instructor and your fellow students in a respectful manner.  Raise your hand if you have a question or wish to speak in class.  No profanity is tolerated.

4.      Always wear a clean white karate uniform that consists of white jacket, white pants, and a belt.  Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed.  Male students must wear a protective groin cup.  No jewelry.

6.      Misbehavior is not tolerated.  Corrective action will escalate from a verbal warning, to a set of exercises, to more exercises, to temporary suspension from class, and finally to expulsion from class.  If the misbehavior is constant, then expulsion is from all classes.

7.      No horseplay before or after class and no sparring without an instructor present.  However, you are welcome to practice before or after class.

8.      Alcohol is not to be consumed before the day of class.

9.      Keep your monthly fees up-to-date before coming to class.

10.     Parents are NOT to talk/shout to their child while class is in session.  This is distracting to the instructors and the students.

11.     Promotion to the next rank involves rank testing that occurs 2 or 3 times a year.  This is a separate fee.  A successful promotion involves presenting the student with a new colored belt and a rank certificate.  Students who are unsuccessful in their promotions will be refunded.
